Welcome to my website.
They say that “home is where the heart is”…and my home is definitely East Hartford.
I grew up on Burnham Street, went to Woodland Elementary School, Saint Rose School and East Catholic High School and fondly remember time spent in McAuliffe Park, at the YMCA, and in summer parks and recreation programs. My daughter Merisa has developed her own fond memories from her time at Langford Elementary School, East Hartford Middle School and East Hartford High School. These positive experiences have served as a solid foundation on which life-long friendships blossomed and pathways opened.
As a life-long resident, I am grateful for the education, services and recreation that I was able to enjoy growing up here in East Hartford. And it is my wish that every East Hartford resident be able to make and enjoy the same fond memories.
That’s why I have always been invested in our town and the community it serves. For as long as I can remember, I have worked on behalf of the residents of East Hartford in a variety of ways…from civic and business involvement to political/public service.
Every aspect of my involvement has been rewarding in its own way and I am truly humbled by the knowledge and experience others have shared with me and I have gained along the way. The opportunities to connect with the people and businesses of East Hartford have only made me more certain that we are a vibrant and diverse community with unlimited potential. But we cannot realize this potential with the status quo…we must choose to make the necessary decisions that prepare us all for growth and prosperity once again.
I believe my experience on the Town Council, as Majority Leader and most recently as your Mayor along with my education, business savvy and community commitment are what it will take to do this. Through this website, I would like to share with you some of my background and experiences so that you can better understand my desire and qualifications to continue to serve you as Mayor.
Most importantly, I cannot do this without your support and input. So please feel free to contact me and share your thoughts as we work together to tackle the challenges affecting our community and ensure that East Hartford remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.
Sincerely,
Marcia A. Leclerc |
